Fla. deputy recovering from gunshot to head

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Maury Hernandez is returning to life after facing death.

The undercover Broward Sheriff's deputy was shot in the head during a foot chase nine months ago. Now he has embarked on a long path to recovery.

"The last thing I remember was using the radio to inform [the suspect] had a weapon. My mind went blank afterward"
