Va. college campus on lock down

The Associated Press

FERRUM, Va. — A college campus outside Roanoke, Va., is on lockdown as police search for a suspicious man on campus.

Authorities say Ferrum College's president ordered the school locked down Tuesday morning after receiving reports of a suspicious man. The private school is in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, about 35 miles south of Roanoke.

A Franklin County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman says a number of officers are on campus. No additional information is available.
