Video: Physical arrest goes viral on YouTube

An investigator who spent time at the sheriff's office analyzes the video and says she has no problem with the force

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Quite a few people are still talking about a video that was posted on YouTube capturing an incident during the St. Patrick's Day festivities. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police say an officer is on paid administrative leave pending an internal affairs investigation.

The video begins with three young women fighting inside and outside of a red SUV. A man is outside the vehicle and at one time, hits the hood of the vehicle and the door. Two officers arrive a minute or two later. One officer arrests the man and then one of the women (who had been fighting) is ultimately arrested by that same officer. However, before that she is pepper sprayed and many people who have viewed the video were concerned how the young woman was later taken to the ground by the officer. Some think the video clearly shows the officer pushing the woman abruptly to the pavement and or tripping her.

Patricia Mincey has spent years as a private investigator, running her own firm, Executive Strategies. She went through law enforcement training and worked for the Chatham County Sheriff's office. She also spent years training retail businesses on arrest procedures for shoplifters.
