Pursuit policies: The hot debate

Pursuit policies are hotly debated between those who feel the risk to innocent bystanders is typically too great, those who feel a no-pursuit policy may actually make flight a more appealing alternative to pulling over and those who see the pile of extenuating circumstances that make pursuit decision-making complex. In light of the recent decision by the Salt Lake County (UT) SO to ban pursuits unless the criminal being chased is suspected of a violent felony like homicide or rape, we would like to hear what PoliceOne members across the country have to say.
