BERKELEY, Calif. — A Berkeley police chase of four homicide suspects that ended in a fatal crash in North Oakland appears to have adhered to department policy, which allows officers to chase violent, armed suspects, police said Sunday.

Police arrested a 22-year-old San Leandro man they said was driving the Cadillac that officers had been chasing before it plowed into two cars Saturday night at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Aileen Street, causing a chain-reaction collision that killed a motorist and a pedestrian.
