Video: Alleged carjacker flees chief, trooper

The suspect waited for them to get out of their patrol cars before speeding off toward Memphis

By PoliceOne Staff

WALLS, Miss. — Dash cam video released Wednesday shows the dramatic pursuit of a suspect charged with carjacking an elderly couple at a casino.

The chase began when Chief Gary Boisseau of the Walls Police Department spotted a gold car that matched the description of one that had been carjacked the previous Friday, WREG reported.

Boisseau and a Mississippi state trooper pulled over the suspect, 23-year-old Yardley Lyons, who waited for them to get out of their patrol cars before speeding off toward Memphis.

Lyons is now in the Tunica County Jail on a $300,000 bond and is charged with armed carjacking, robbery, kidnapping, and felony fleeing.
