Video: Woman, 62, leads deputies on chase

Drivers said the woman was giving the 'thumbs up' sign

PORTAGE, Wis. — The Portage County sheriff released dash cam video on Thursday of a wrong-way driver on Interstate 39.

Deputies said the video shows a 62-year-old woman speeding the wrong way, slamming into cars until she was finally stopped by law enforcement. Drivers said the woman was giving the "thumbs up" sign as she passed them.

According to a criminal complaint, investigators said the woman admitted she had been drinking and told arresting officers she no longer wanted to live. This is the woman's fifth arrest on suspicion of drunken driving. No one was seriously injured.
