New video shows stolen cruiser strike officer

The couple who stole 2 cruisers during a heroin-fueled crime spree hit an officer, breaking his leg

By PoliceOne Staff

CAMDEN, N.J. — A new video of the couple who led police on a pursuit using two stolen cruisers reveals the moment an officer was injured when he was in their path.

Officer Sekou Reid-Bay, 49, was out of his vehicle when Blake Bills jumped into it and took off, striking the officer, breaking his leg, according to ABC 6.

Witnesses can be seen running into Camden Police Headquarters to alert them, and a group of officers run out to see what’s happened.

Bills and his girlfriend, Shayna Sykes, who stole a second cruiser later, were arrested and charged with attempted murder, carjacking, aggravated assault, and other offenses.

Officer Reid-Bay was released from the hospital Wednesday, according to the article.
