NOVEMBER 21, 2013, 6:24 AM|Police are using a new tool, known as the GPS "cannon," to reduce dangerous high speed chases. The device is fired onto the back of the suspect's car, and allows police to track their location through real-time GPS information. CBS News' Jeff Pegues reports.

A Dallas woman is recovering after being beaten and kidnapped at gunpoint after leaving an office party in downtown Dallas. The incident occurred last Thursday around 11 p.m. in the 2000 block of Bryan Street. Police say Charles Lewis Black snuck up behind the 25-year-old woman and started hitting her with a gun and forced her into her Lexus. People who saw the attack called 911 and police eventually found the car more than 30 miles away in Kaufman. Black was arrested and faces an aggravated kidnapping charge. The woman suffered minor injuries.
