COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus Police Officer Christopher Boyd is, by all accounts, a good cop who was having a bad day last May when he split a man's head open with his city-issued black, steel flashlight.
It was about midnight when Boyd began following Jeremy Vance after he said he saw Vance roll through a stop sign on Nelson Road near E. Broad Street.
