Chicago Metra cop hurt in traffic crash

CHICAGO, Ill. — A Metra police officer was involved in a traffic crash early Friday morning on Chicago's Southeast Side, police said.

The officer, who was believed to be on-duty, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but his condition was not immediately known.

The crash occurred about 2 a.m. in the area of East 88th Street and South Commercial Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood.

Metra officials were not available for comment early this morning, and further details were unavailable.
