DALLAS — Dallas police say the 18-year-old male suspected of attacking three family members with a knife has died at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
According to Maj. Max Geron, a Dallas police spokesman, the first responding officer was met by the suspect in the front yard of the house on Espanola Drive. He was holding two knives.
Geron says the suspect, who has not yet been named, approached the officer, "who retreated down the block three houses while giving the suspect loud verbal commands to drop the knives. The suspect kept approaching, and the officer then shot him."
Says Geron, "When the responding cover officers arrived, the suspect remained combative," and the officers then tased the suspect. At that point he went down, Geron says, "and was transported to the hospital."
The three family members, who have not yet been officially identified, remain hospitalized in serious condition.
