Officer David Freeman was shot seven times after stopping suspect Curtis Hicks for an expired tag.

   

Mo. police, journalists take cover from hail of bullets

The incident occurred as police were moving down the street with an armored vehicle.

Alaska police shoot man attacking with bat

Confrontation between a man and two cops led to a shooting after he rushed them with a baseball bat and swung at a downed officer.

Cops 'fight for survival' during fatal Ohio traffic stop

The incident began when officers stopped an SUV with an illegal window tint after witnessing the driver change lanes without signaling.
