SANDUSKY, Ohio - A Sandusky police officer is facing a disciplinary hearing after his patrol car crashed into two parked cars and a sign while he was engaged in a foot pursuit.

Police reports show 36-year-old Jody Showalter, a 4-year veteran of the force, failed to put his patrol car in park when he jumped out to chase a group of fleeing juveniles early Wednesday morning. As a result, the cruiser idled forward and crashed into two parked cars before coming to a stop after striking a sign post.
