Police arrested a suspected carjacker who parked the allegedly stolen vehicle between two patrol cars

By PoliceOne Staff

BELL GARDENS, Calif. — Police arrested a suspected carjacker who parked the allegedly stolen vehicle between two patrol cars, officials said.

Police said a 23-year-old man stole a 2012 Dodge Neon from a woman, 52, at a car wash Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles Times. Jorge Martinez of Atwater, Calif. was located a few hours later between two Bell Gardens police officers' cars, which were double-parked as they responded to an unrelated domestic disturbance call, Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn said.

"One officer comes back to the car, and this guy had parked the stolen car between the patrol cars," Ryburn said. "It turns out that the in-dash camera captured it all on video."
