HOUSTON — Police have identified a man who drove a silver car into a crowd at the scene of a fatal shooting in southeast Houston.

Louis D. Anthony III, 38,  is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon — his car.

He is the father of a person of interest in the shooting that took place about 12:30 p.m. May 7 in the 6000 block of Belarbor. Louis Anthony III was arrested at the scene.

As captured by television news cameras, people jumped out of the way of the silver car as it drove in a circle about 4:30 p.m. in an apparent attempt to strike onlookers. When Anthony got out of the car, an officer tackled him. A female passenger remained in the car.

Anthony's 18-year-old son, Louis D. Anthony IV, is a person of interest in the shooting that left one man dead and another wounded. He has not been charged with anything, police said Thursday.

Demarcus Harrison, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene, after being shot during an argument with several other men.

A second victim was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
