MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Dash cam video has been released capturing a driver slamming into a vehicle pulled over to the side of the road during a traffic stop June 20.
According to the Montgomery County Police Reporter, Deputy Constable Tim Shackleford stopped the driver of the Mustang for speeding when the collision occurred.
The driver claimed another driver had hit his Mustang with a bottle. Shackleford could not locate the other driver upon investigation.
Returning to the scene, as Shackleford ran the man’s driver’s license, he pulled his foot into his patrol vehicle and closed the door.
Mere moments later, a truck barely missed the patrol car and slammed into the Mustang – the driver was allegedly distracted by a soft drink that had spilled into his lap.
The driver of the Mustang, who was sitting on the rear bumper, avoided injury by moving out of the way in time.
The driver of the truck was cited for lack of insurance and failure to drive in a single marked lane, according to the report.
