First female officer in ten years joins upstate N.Y. city police

ONEIDA, N.Y. - Patrol Officer Sarah Carter is the first woman on the Oneida Police Force in almost a decade.

In her first week as a patrol officer she made a driving while intoxicated arrest and a felony drug arrest.

A psychology major at Mohawk Valley Community College, she quickly decided that wasn't for her and got her associate of science degree in criminal justice.
