Police: Calif. rape suspect arrested after flirting with cop

A records check revealed a no-bail warrant for rape

By PoliceOne Staff

SAN FRANCISCO — A rape suspect was arrested after flirting with a uniformed female officer on patrol, police said.

On Saturday afternoon a 26-year-old man approached a police cruiser with the officer and another female officer inside, Capt. Paul Chignell told the San Francisco Chronicle. The man — "obviously enamored," Chignell said — struck up a conversation and asked the officer if she was married. She was "unavailable," she replied, and asked for the man's name.

A records check revealed a no-bail warrant for rape issued in Hayward, and the suspect was arrested, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
