NYPD officer alleges supervisor flashed, texted explicit photos

A NYPD officer has filed a $30 million lawsuit her supervising lieutenant

By PoliceOne Staff

NEW YORK — A NYPD officer claims in a $30 million lawsuit her supervising lieutenant exposed his genitals to her while on duty and texted her explicit photos.

Officer Shemalisca Vasquez alleges Lt. Ruben Caban flashed her in a station room, according to a Bronx Supreme Court complaint. She says in the complaint she told him to "put that thing away."

The lawsuit further states that Caban asked Vasquez for sex in exchange for signed vacation requests and favored assignments, the New York Daily News reported

Vasquez also claims graphic photos were sent to her phone accompanied by "twisted" messages.

No criminal charges were filed in initial investigations by the Internal Affairs Bureau and the district attorney's office. The city's Law Department is next to weigh the allegations.
