Cunniff, a nine year veteran assigned to troop T’s Fultonville barracks, was pronounced dead Tuesday morning. He leaves behind a wife and two young boys, according to the report.

"All our hopes and prayers are with the family at this terrible time," Superintendent Joseph D'Amico said.
