CLINTONVILLE, Ohio — Dash cam video has just been released of the dramatic pursuit and shooting that left two suspects dead.
A grand jury cleared seven Columbus officers involved in the May 2013 shooting, in which murder suspect Emmanuel Gatewood and his girlfriend Kourtney Hahn were killed in a hail of gunfire, according to ABC6.
The seven-minute dash cam footage starts from the perspective of one officer’s squad, until he begins yelling over the radio that he’s been hit and removes himself from the pursuit to drive to the hospital.
Another cruiser then pursues the SUV, which hit stop sticks and lost control, driving through bushes before it stopped in front of a fire station.
More than 150 bullets were fired in the span of a shootout between police and the suspects. When it was over, Hahn was shot 17 times and Gatewood was shot 4 times. Both died on the scene.
Police reportedly found an M9 and an automatic pistol in the vehicle.
The officer who left the pursuit later discovered he’d been hit by shattered glass and not a bullet, according to the report.
