NJ cop shoots, wounds suspect dragging him in stolen vehicle

The officer was hospitalized with a broken leg

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — An officer being dragged by a stolen vehicle managed to save himself by shooting the driver, PIX 11 reported.

The incident began Thursday when officers noticed a stolen vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver sped off as the officers approached, dragging one of the officers with him.

The officer managed to pull his firearm and shoot the driver in the head.

The driver was taken to a hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.

The officer was hospitalized with a possible broken leg.

The incident is under investigation.
