SEATTLE — Seattle police signed a contract with the U.S. Army in hopes to boost recruiting efforts.
According to KOMO News, Police Chief Carmen Best and Lt. Col. Mark Davis, the head of the Army’s Seattle recruiting battalion, made the agreement official on Tuesday.
The contract is part of the Army’s Partnership for Youth Success (PAYS) program. PAYS, which started in 2000, connects soldiers with more than 500 employers across the nation and groups them with local businesses.
Employers that enroll in the program agree to interview soldiers when they leave the Army.
Although interviews don’t guarantee employment, Davis says the program is a way to look into options that are available to soldiers.
