DORCHESTER, Mass. — A Dorchester man called 911 early yesterday morning and claimed an armed man was threatening him and trying to break into his apartment, police said.

Officers reported they responded quickly and with guns drawn to the call from the Victory Road apartment, whereupon the caller greeted them and exclaimed, "There is no gun. I just wanted you guys here quicker."
