MUNCIE, Ind. — A fight over the last rib at a backyard barbeque put a woman in the hospital after another stabbed her in the eye.
KDVR reports that police responded to reports of a woman being stabbed in the eye with a fork by another woman.
"She was upset that [Sabrina] Davis was taking the last rib from the kitchen," an officer said. "[She] then confronted Davis about taking all the food."
During the argument, Davis picked up a fork used to take meat from a pan and stabbed the victim in the eye.
The victim was hospitalized for lacerations and a swollen eye. She was later released.
Davis alleged she was acting in self-defense because the victim pulled out a knife during the argument.
"It was just so ridiculous," one of the neighbors said. "Barbeque’s good and all that, but it’s not worth sticking somebody in the eye with a fork, you know?"
