HEIDELBERG TWP., Pa. — When state police arrested a Lehigh County man for allegedly breaking into someone’s Heidelberg Township home, troopers first needed to take him out of the shower.

Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to a Glen Court home in the Germansville area of the township shortly before 4 a.m. May 5 to investigate a report of unwanted house guest. Neighbors told troopers that a man later identified as Jose G. Vega kicked open the front door, according to records.

The victim and homeowner reported Vega had forced his way inside and proceeded upstairs to use the shower despite being told repeatedly that he wasn’t allowed in the house, according to records.

When state police arrived, he was reportedly showering in a locked bathroom and repeatedly ignored orders to step out of the shower. The 37-year-old was eventually removed from the shower and taken into custody.

Vega, of Parkland Court in North Whitehall Township, now faces a felony count of criminal trespass, along with misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct and a summary count of harassment. He is now showering at Lehigh County Jail, where he awaits a preliminary hearing after failing to post bail.
