Purpose of using ridged cuffs


Over the last 100 years, restraints have taken a positive turn for the best — using standard swivel cuffs, hinged cuffs to the new ridged cuff. Ridged cuffs are made by using a different pieces of a plastic composite that lock into one another by converting a standard pair of swivel handcuffs to ridged cuffs. Quick access — and being easy to handle and apply — are all important elements for using restraints especially in a correctional environment.
