CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Officials in Ohio say they’re examining discrepancies in documents that list when medications were given to a woman later found dead in her jail cell.
Thirty-seven-year-old Ralkina Jones was found unresponsive in her Cleveland Heights cell the morning of July 26.
In a statement, an assistant law director says the city is investigating discrepancies between medical and jail logs about when Jones received prescription medications.
A medical examiner hasn’t ruled on her cause of death.
Jones told police she had a variety of medical problems and didn’t want to die in a cell. Police say paramedics took her to a clinic for evaluation the night before she died and checked on her after she returned to jail.
She’d been arrested July 24 after her ex-husband alleged she assaulted him.
