Detroit narcotics officer accused of stealing over 13 lbs of cocaine

DETROIT — Detroit Police Chief Ella Bully-Cummings today announced that a narcotics officer has been suspended for allegedly stealing six kilograms, about 13.2 pounds, of uncut cocaine from the department's property room.
The chief said the officer had the authority to sign out cocaine from the room and is suspected of replacing it with another substance and keeping the drug. She said the uncut cocaine has a street value of about $2.4 million.
