Car dealership helps widow keep fallen Ore. cop's truck
Widow said she wanted to keep her husband’s truck but could no longer afford her lease
GLADSTONE, Ore. — Oregon City Police Officer Robert Libke died last November while responding to a house fire and reports of a man with a gun. The man, 88-year-old Lawrence Cambra, shot and killed Robert and then killed himself.
Since Robert’s death, his widow, Wendy Libke, has been making car payments on Robert’s truck and lease payments on her Volkswagen. Wendy said she wanted to keep her husband’s truck but could no longer afford her lease.
Volkswagen refused to work with her when Ralph Martinez of Town and Country Gladstone Honda stepped in to help.
