Ore. K-9 struck with over 200 quills while pursuing criminal

The K-9 was searching for a suspect who evaded arrest when he encountered a porcupine in his path

COOS BAY, Ore.  — A K-9 suffered major injuries while pursuing a suspect last weekend.

Odin the K-9 was searching for a suspect who evaded arrest earlier that day when he encountered a porcupine in his pathway, ABC 7 reports.

Multiple quills punctured his face including his left eye and near his mouth.

Odin was rushed to a local vet where he was sedated and treated for his wounds.

Police say the suspect is still at large.
