DALLAS — A K-9 has died due to complications after being exposed to a toxic substance.

ATF K-9 Able was exposed to a toxic substance during explosives detection training in Dallas, ODMP reports.

Following the exposure, he became ill. His conditions worsened and he died on Jan. 5 - 10 days after the incident.

Able served with the ATF for five years and worked as an explosives detection canine.
