Print for Roll Call

Editor's Note:

In addition to the outstanding article written by Betsy Brantner Smith in response to this week’s mid-year report on officer deaths, you’ll find a couple of items related to our Armed Forces. Contributor Chris Ghannam delivers part two in his series on turning combat veterans into cops, and columnist Glenn French provides this week’s First Person with an excellent essay about our "Patriot Warriors."

If you’re a current or former member of the U.S. military, we want to hear from you. We’re planning something special and want to hear your story, so send us an e-mail.
