Print for Roll Call

Editor's Note:

Our primary goal at PoliceOne is to positively affect the profession of law enforcement and the lives of cops on the streets. So when we asked you to help a law firm representing officers fighting to have their home addresses pulled from court documents, we were excited to play a role in a big win for law enforcement. And when we did a story on Tony Luketic's would-be murderer potentially going free, we worked with you to generate so many letters that the guy was denied parole. Together, maybe we can do it again.

— Doug Wyllie, PoliceOne Senior Editor

Take action to prevent parole for Ohio cop killer
Officer Jeffrey Manning Phegley
In January 1987, Officer Jeffrey Manning Phegley was shot and killed during a traffic stop by Anthony Wayne McIntosh, who was convicted of the murder and sentenced to 15-years-to-life. He is now being considered for parole.

It's our position that cop killers should never again be free to hurt another officer or civilian. To ensure this, we need your support. Help send a message by adding your comments to the article below, downloading and mailing the petition and/or writing a letter. We will compile all of your comments and send them to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections Office of Victim Services.

NEW YORK — A law enforcement technique called 'stop-and-frisk' is drawing criticism from citizens who claim that the practice is racist and fails to deter crime.
