Woman files suit over topless video in holding cell

Suspect bit an officer on the hand as he tried to keep her from shouting

ORLANDO — A woman who admitted she deserved to be arrested has filed a lawsuit against police over surveillance video that shows her topless inside her holding cell.

In April last year, police at the Leesburg Bikefest arrested Ashleigh Davis, who said she was "drunk, disorderly, and probably deserved to be arrested," according to WESH Orlando

In a new lawsuit against the Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Leesburg Police Department, Davis claims officers tied her hands and feet behind her back, causing her bikini top to fall off. According to Davis, officers brought her to the Leesburg Police Department, where they laughed and left her shirtless in the holding cell for an extended period of time.

During the incident, Davis bit an officer on the hand as he tried to keep her from shouting, WESH reported. In response, the officer took her to the ground, where her teeth were damaged.

Attorney Stan Plappert, who claims his client did not threaten officers, wants police to undergo sensitivity training for dealing with partially or fully nude suspects. Davis, who is on probation for the arrest, suggested officers should "pay."

"I am paying for what I did, and I want them to pay for what has happened to me," Davis said.
