An officer in Puerto Rico died Thursday, six days after she was involved in a car crash

PUERTO RICO — An officer in Puerto Rico died Thursday, six days after she was involved in a car crash, from the injuries she sustained.

According to ODMP, Agent Marielis Morales-Santiago and another officer were driving a department vehicle when another car struck them. Both officers suffered serious injuries from the accident.

Morales-Santiago served with the Puerto Rico Police Department for 14 years. She is survived by her three children and husband, according to the report.
