State trooper killed in NY crash, suspect arrested

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — A state trooper was killed in a vehicle crash Thursday and a suspect is in custody.

According to WBNG, Trooper Christopher G. Skinner was hit by the suspect while conducting a traffic stop around noon, resulting in a manhunt for the driver.

Two other cars were also hit in the crash. The driver responsible for the accidents fled the scene in his truck before being arrested by police.

State police have not released any further details of the incident.
