RIO RANCHO, N.M. — A Rio Rancho police officer died in a single-vehicle crash while en route to a call of an assault.
KRQE reports Officer Anthony Haase was on his way to the call Sunday morning when his vehicle veered off the road.
Officer Haase was with the department for one year. Police are currently investigating the crash. No other details have been released.
“The city of Rio Rancho mourns the loss of this dedicated law enforcement public servant, and extends its heartfelt condolences to Officer Haase’s loved ones,” Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull said in a statement, according to the Albuquerque Journal.
