MADISON, Wis. — The hacker collective known as ‘Anonymous’ has claimed responsibility for an ongoing cyber attack on the city of Madison.

According to Madison.com, the FBI has joined local agencies in combating and identifying those involved in the attack, which included the blocking of email and police dispatch services.

The attack comes days after the controversial fatal shooting of 19-year-old Tony Robinson, which has inspired public protests against the department.

City officials are reportedly working with FBI investigators, the state Department of Justice, the Madison Police Department and the National Guard in identifying the attackers.

This is not the first time Anonymous has targeted police departments after officer-involved shootings. Just last year, the city of Albuquerque suffered “significant disruption” from the group after the helmet camera footage of a fatal police shooting received widespread media attention.

The group was also responsible for a campaign against the Ferguson Police Department after the death of Michael Brown, which culminated in the group falsely identifying the officer involved in the shooting, according to USA Today.
