COCOA, Fla. — Body camera captured an undercover agent’s narrow escape from death during a drug deal in a parking lot.
According to KSN, ATF Agent Scott Perala was undercover and planned to purchase drugs and two assault weapons from suspects Jeremy Williams and Beaver Duncan in a parking lot when the incident occurred.
After Perala entered the parked vehicle and inspected the drugs, the suspects brandished an AK-47 and a pistol in a robbery attempt.
Perala bailed out of the car and engaged in a shootout with the suspects in broad daylight.
Over 10 police officers nearby responded and exchanged gunfire with the suspects. They were later apprehended hiding behind a daycare nearby.
Perala escaped uninjured. Williams, Duncan and a third person were later convicted in the case and are serving life in prison, according to the report.
