The officer got an unexpected visitor while on patrol

By PoliceOne Staff

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Rookie Officer Larry Taylor got a valuable lesson in expecting the unexpected on the beat after a canine visitor decided to join him in his brand new patrol car.

Taylor was just a few days on the job when the dog ran up, jumped in and made herself comfortable, the department posted on Facebook.

The dog curled up on the passenger’s seat while Taylor wrote a report.

The owner was eventually located and got the pup out of the cruiser.

The department’s photo of the encounter has garnered over 63,000 likes on Facebook.
