TEXARKANA, Texas — A photo of a Texas officer posing with a playful pit bull went has gone viral.
WJZY reports that Texarkana PD Officer Travis Frost responded to a call about a “vicious dog” in a neighborhood when spotted a pit bull on someone’s front porch. Police said Foster whistled at the dog, who “came trotting over to him with his tail wagging.”
After petting the dog for a minute, the pit bull jumped into the front seat of the officer’s patrol car and “just made himself at home.” Frost took some selfies with the dog, which have gone viral after being posted on the department’s Facebook page.
“Pit bulls have a bit of a bad reputation. While you should always be careful around any dog that you don’t know, you shouldn’t automatically assume that all pit bulls are bad dogs. They might be really loving, like this guy was this morning,” the police department wrote.
Police said the dog, whose name is Gold, was picked up Monday morning by his owner.
