Officer of the Month - Kevin Trees
Officer Kevin Trees
Louisville, KY Metro Police Department
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund has named Officer Kevin Trees of the Louisville (KY) Metro P.D. as its Officer of the Month for January 2007. Within three years of joining the department he received two Lifesaving Awards and his department’s Officer of the Year award. Critically injured in a motorcycle accident in 2003, Officer Trees subsequently lost his right leg. Undaunted, he mastered the use of his prosthetic limb, passed a rigorous physical and was reinstated as an active duty officer. Amazingly, Officer Trees is in training with the department’s aviation division learning to fly helicopters!
