LONGUEUIL, Québec - An officer in Canada serves her community by day and is pursuing a singing career by night.
Longueuil Police Constable Jacqueline Pierre has loved music her entire life, joining her father’s church choir when she was five years old. She’s tried out for singing competitions like Canadian Idol and La Voix, but law enforcement became a more stable career choice.
According to CTV News Montreal, Pierre’s talents come in handy on the force. She recently used music to distract a depressed mother and her children during a trip to the hospital.
“I want people to see that I’m human and that I can do anything – something else than giving tickets,” Pierre said.
Although she still wishes for a paid singing career, she’s happy to stay on the force until then. She believes singing makes her a better officer.
