WINSLOW, Ariz.  — An Arizona officer who signed off for the last time on Friday got an emotional surprise from his department.

According to local news station WTHR, Sgt. Afton Foster of the Winslow Police Department worked with the department for 26 years.

With his wife by his side, Foster was congratulated by the dispatcher for his service. Then to Foster’s surprise, one of his sons replied to his call.

Foster’s three sons came on one-by-one to thank him for his service and dedication to their family and city.

At a loss for words, all Foster could say was, “thank you.”
