Virginia police force earns top honors

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. — The city's police force has become one of the few agencies accredited through the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission.

Gary M. Dillon, division of law enforcement program manager for the Department of Criminal Justice Services, said that out of roughly 400 eligible agencies, only 85 in the state are so accredited.
