YORK COUNTY — Deputies are asking for the public’s help with information about a man who stole a donation jar from the counter of a convenience store recently.

The jar was on the counter of the 7-Eleven in the Edehill area when it was swiped by a man wearing a dark shirt and bright green pants, according to a post on Facebook by the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

The jar was set up to collect funds for the family of fallen Virginia State Police Trooper Chad P. Dermyer.
