GULFPORT, Miss. — An officer fought back tears after he received a gift from a young girl, WLOX reported.
Officer John McConnell posted a photo on Facebook of his new “partner”.
While the officer was on patrol on Dec. 1, a girl approached him to hand him a stuffed teddy bear. He tried to give it back but she wouldn’t take it, according to the Facebook post.
“She looked up at me and said it was to keep me safe. I said thank you while trying to keep my voice from cracking,” McConnell wrote.
The officer then set the bear in the passenger seat for the girl to see.
“What a way to make the day better,” McConnell posted.
