RICHMOND, Texas — When 92-year old Mary Summers took her car in for a flat tire to be repaired, the news was not good. Not only was the tire beyond repair, but the other three were also in desperate need of replacement, at a cost of over $600.
When Mary told the mechanic she could only afford to replace the flat tire, Texas DPS Trooper Drew Stoner overheard her dilemma and knew he had to act.
“I’m thinking, ‘What if she goes out on the road and a tire goes out on her (or) kind of falls apart on her, and she’s on the side of the road?’” Stoner told WHOU11.
That is when the trooper decided to secretly pay for all four tires to be replaced. Watch the heartwarming story below.
